It’s a calculator that figures up your ideal bedtime based on sleep cycles and when you need to get up. The idea is that if you set your alarm to wake you up at a certain time, and it happens to be in the middle of one of your sleep cycles, you will feel tired and cruddy no matter how much sleep you have had. But if you time everything to wake at the end of a sleep cycle you will feel better even if you are a little short on the required hours of sleep. It is a simple formula but the calculator makes is super easy.
If you get off schedule a little bit, you lose an entire cycle. . . less than great.
So it gives you bedtime options based on when you need to wake up . . . or you can click it midday while you are tired and it syncs to your circadian rhythm . . . awesome stuff . . . and perfect excuse for a new habitgram.
